Setting up Online Rent Collection with Landlord Studio is quick and easy. Simply enable online rent collection when you create the lease. You'll then be required to verify your identity and connect the bank account you'd like payments to be deposited into. Then, invite your tenants to pay online.
Once invited, tenants can pay securely via their own accounts. You can track payments that are in flight, and you’ll receive notifications whenever a payment is completed.
Here’s the complete flow for setting up Online Rent Collection using the desktop portal or mobile app.
Most rent payments are transferred within 3–5 business days. For example, if a tenant pays on Monday, the funds are usually available by Friday.

es! Once tenants create their account, they can enable auto-pay, which automatically deducts rent on a schedule you set, typically on the same day each month. This helps both landlords and tenants avoid late payments and missed rent.
They will receive an email with a unique one-time link. They simply need to follow this link, set up their account. In order to pay rent tenants have two options. The first is to log into the tenant portal each month, review the upcoming payment and manually initiate rent payments.
Alternatively, they can set up auto-pay which will set their rent to be paid at the same time every month.
Initiated payments will be deducted from their account and transferred into yours via the secure ACH network.

Yes! Landlord Studio allows you to issue invoices for tenant-payable expenses, such as utilities, parking fees, or HOA dues. Tenants can pay these invoices using the same secure platform, keeping all payments centralized and easy to track.

Online Rent Collection is included in all Landlord Studio plans. Each transaction starts at $2.50, with full pricing details available on our pricing page. There are no hidden fees, and tenants can pay easily with bank transfers for minimal cost.
Yes. Tenants can pay using bank transfers, debit, or credit cards depending on the setup you have enabled on your account. All new landlord users will have the option to accept card payments. If you don't see this option on your account, please contact support to learn how to enable card payment options. Payments are processed securely, and you can track each payment in your dashboard.
If a payment fails or is late, both you and the tenant will receive notifications. You can then follow up directly through the platform or send reminders. This helps reduce late payments and maintain a clear paper trail.
Should the tenants payment fail due to insufficient fees the tenant will be charged an NSF fee and asked to retry the payment once they haveenough money in their account.
