What you need to do
- Sign up with HMRC and keep digital income and expense records.
- Use compatible software to send quarterly updates and your annual tax return/final declaration.
- Quarterly update deadlines: 7 August, 7 November, 7 February and 7 May.
- Annual return deadline: 31 January after the tax year ends.
Quarterly updates are summaries, not quarterly tax bills.
Penalties
